Ep. 172: Devils Lake | North Dakota RV travel camping fishing kayaking

Life in Devil's Lake, North Dakota is all about duck hunting and fishing. Or if you prefer, fishing and duck hunting. Flip through the region's tourist guide, and you'll find nothing but photos of walleye and ads for hunting and fishing guides and lodges. It's been called the perch capital of the world. Then come winter, it's all about ice fishing.

But we found lots of other things to see and do in the area that we'll share in this stop on Grand Adventure's #AmericanHeartlandTour2020. We're camping on an island in the middle of the lake at Grahams Island State Park, and stop by the town of Devils Lake and the Spirit Lake Casino en route to Fort Totten State Historic Site, and gazing at bison, elk, white tailed deer and prairie dogs at the White Horse Hill National Wildlife Preserve (once a National Park!), before kayaking through a stunning stand of dead, flood trees along the lakeshore.
