Explore Florida’s Hidden Gem: The Treasure Coast! (Ep. 458) | RV travel camping Stuart Jensen Beach

Florida's Treasure Coast stretches from Vero Beach in the north, south as far as roughly Hobe Sound and Jupiter Island, spanning Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin Counties. The region gets its name from the 1715 Spanish Treasure Fleet. Eleven ships carrying silver, gold, and jewels from the New World to Spain were wrecked off the coast during a massive hurricane. To this day, artifacts and gold coins are still occasionally found on the beaches and in the waters after major storms. The Treasure Coast is known for a slower, more relaxed pace than the busy Gold Coast coastline to its south, with stricter building height restrictions and abundant nature preserves. We're exploring the Martin County portion in the south, including the city of Stuart and the communities of Port Salerno and Jensen Beach, including Hutchinson Island, Jupiter Island, along with the dining and RV camping opportunities throughout the region.

Welcome to Grand Adventure, a YouTube channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, always filmed in stunning 4K.

We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah during the winter months, and invite you to come along as we travel all around North America. My wife Patricia and I, and dog Zoe are avid boondockers, so while you'll occasionally find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. We've now transitioned from "long-timing" for six months a year, to living and traveling in our RV full-time.
